Lord & Perry Estate Vineyards was established in 2019, when founder Wayne Perry, a San Francisco Bay Area native and entrepreneur, bought a vineyard property in Healdsburg, in Alexander Valley. He created the label to honor four generations of entrepreneurs in his family, including his grandfather Harris Perry Sr., who ran a carpentry business in Tulsa in the early 1900s, and the Greenwood District of Tulsa, known as Black Wall Street.
The wine is an estate Merlot, grown and produced in ultra-limited quantities on the property, and the winery ties it to jazz, art and the entrepreneurs of Greenwood. Wayne Perry says he was inspired by Richard Parsons, the business leader who built a winery in Italy.
The Merlot is sold only through the website, and a Library Collection is reserved for club members. Club members are invited to private tastings, chef-curated dinners, jazz performances and art exhibitions at the estate, which has a creekside setting, vineyard walks, a pool and a gazebo over the foothills. There are no public tastings, so visits are through the wine club. The day below stays in Alexander Valley at three more estates.
Lord & Perry has no public tastings; tastings at the estate are for wine club members. The three wineries on the day below run about $130 per person: $45 at Medlock Ames, $20 at Alexander Valley Vineyards and $65 at Silver Oak.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
