Five generations of Larsons have lived and worked this land in Carneros. It began as a dairy farm, and from 1928 into the 1950s it was home to the largest rodeo in Northern California. The family planted its first vineyard in 1978, and in 1985, when they made more wine than they could drink, they opened the winery. Hence Tom Larson's motto: "We drink what we can, and sell the rest!"
The Larsons farm 100 acres of estate vineyards sustainably and organically and bottle about 5,000 cases a year, sold only at the winery, through the wine club and online. Tom Larson is the family's wine master and CEO and runs the vineyards, and Becky Larson oversees the tasting room and wine club. Winemaker Shane Ryan, who grew up in Sonoma Valley, was assistant winemaker from 2013 to 2017 and returned as winemaker in 2022.
Larson is an outdoor venue year-round, and tastings are hosted 90-minute flights, with gliders, cabanas, bocce and cornhole in the pasture for groups that book them. The bestselling Three Lab Cab is named for the farm's Labradors, Rosko, Louie and Gus, who are usually around to greet guests.
$35 for the Daily Flight and $45 for the Reserve Flight, each a hosted 90-minute tasting. The Glider, Cabana and Vineyard View settings add a $40 site fee per group to the tasting fee; Bocce & Glider is $50 per group with a 3-bottle minimum.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
