About the Winery

Vittorio Sangiacomo left Genoa, Italy, for America in 1913 at 17. In 1927 he bought a 52-acre fruit ranch two miles south of the Sonoma Plaza, now the family's Home Ranch, and he and his wife, Maria, raised four children there: Lorraine, Angelo, Buck and Bob. The family grew it into one of the largest pear-growing operations in California.

As the pear market softened, the family planted its first vineyard, Green Acres, in 1969, and by 1981 the orchards had become vineyards. Gundlach Bundschu made the first wine to carry the Sangiacomo Vineyards name in 1979. Today the third generation, Steve and Mike Sangiacomo and Mia Pucci, farm about 1,600 acres in Carneros, the Petaluma Gap, Napa Valley and the Sonoma Coast and sell grapes to dozens of wineries, many of which name the vineyard on the label. The family launched its own label, Sangiacomo Family Wines, in 2016, focused on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from its certified sustainable vineyards.

Tastings are on the Home Ranch terrace, overlooking 110 acres of mostly Chardonnay vines. The Signature Terrace Tasting & Vineyard Tour starts with a guided walk through the estate vineyard and ends with a seated flight of five wines, and the Roberts Road Reserve Immersion Tasting focuses on the family's Petaluma Gap vineyard, first planted in 1999.

Tasting Fees

$55 for the Signature Terrace Tasting & Vineyard Tour, a vineyard walk and seated flight of five wines, about 90 minutes ($80 with a cheese and charcuterie box). $40 for Sip Sangiacomo, a 60-minute tasting of four wines at the Terrace Bar for up to 4. $125 for the Roberts Road Reserve Immersion Tasting with cheese and charcuterie, 90 minutes, daily at 10:30 a.m. with 48 hours' notice.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
