Koch Family Vineyards is a family-owned winery and farm in Petaluma, run by owners Kevin and Tuesday Koch with winemaker Lucas. Its new tasting room on Adobe Road, east of town, opened recently.
The winery makes small batches of wine by hand from selected vineyards across Sonoma County: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé of Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir. The family keeps sheep that graze between the vines, managing weeds naturally as part of the vineyard's ecosystem.
The farm has gardens, produce and animals, and the tasting room is set among them, so a visit is as much about the farm as the wine. It is open into the evening five days a week.
Koch Family Vineyards does not publish its tasting fee; it is paid at the tasting room.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a Petaluma hotel such as Hotel Petaluma or the Sheraton Sonoma Wine Country Petaluma.
Hotel Petaluma, a restored 1923 hotel downtown, is about 40 minutes from Gloria Ferrer, and the Sheraton Sonoma Wine Country Petaluma, overlooking the Petaluma River marina, about 35. Koch opens at 11 a.m. and stays open until 7, so the day heads to Carneros and Sonoma first and stops at the farm on the way home. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 40 minutes away. The first sparkling wine house in Carneros, opened in 1986 by the Ferrer family of Freixenet, with a red-tiled winery modeled on the family's Catalan farmhouse and a terrace over the vines. The seated Taste of Carneros flight of four estate wines is $62, about an hour. Reservations required for tastings; closed Tuesday, last booking 3:30 p.m.
About 25 minutes away. The Sonoma Plaza tasting room of screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen's mountain estate, planted in volcanic rock high in the Moon Mountain District and known for Cabernet Sauvignon. The Seated Immersion of four wines with cheese and charcuterie is $90. Seated experiences need an advance reservation; the tasting room is open daily.
About 5 minutes away. French country cooking on the Sonoma Plaza, with a Rhône-focused wine list, cheese and charcuterie, and a garden patio. Open from 11:30 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 30 minutes away. A tasting of small-batch Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, rosé and Pinot Noir at the farm, with its gardens and animals.
Back in Petaluma by 3:55 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Koch is open Wednesday to Sunday, so this day works Wednesday to Sunday.
About $150 per person in tasting fees for Gloria Ferrer and Kamen, plus the Koch tasting fee, each paid directly to the winery.
