Jordan Vineyard & Winery

About the Winery

Tom and Sally Jordan founded Jordan Vineyard & Winery in 1972, inspired by the great wine estates of France. They brought in André Tchelistcheff as consulting enologist, and he hired Rob Davis, who made every vintage from the first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1976 and the first Chardonnay in 1979 until he retired in 2019. Their son John Jordan has run the winery since 2005 and took over full ownership in 2007.

Jordan makes only two wines: Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Maggie Kruse, who joined in 2006, became head winemaker in 2019, making her only the second winemaker in the winery's history. The 1,200-acre estate also grows olives for the estate olive oil and a chef's garden for the kitchen.

The chateau holds the winery, kitchen and dining rooms under one roof, and every visit pairs the wines with food from Executive Chef Jesse Mallgren. The Winery Tour & Tasting walks through the terrace, the oak tank room and the library before a seated tasting of the Chardonnay and several vintages of Cabernet in the cellar room. World's Best Vineyards named Jordan the Best Vineyard in North America for 2025.

Tasting Fees

$90 for the 90-minute Winery Tour & Tasting with food pairings. $60 for A Taste of Jordan, 45 minutes. $170 for the Estate Tour & Tasting, three hours or more across the estate, offered seasonally.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
