Low-intervention wines from organic grapes, many dry-farmed, made by husband-and-wife winemakers Caroline and Blair Guthrie. Guthrie Family Wines does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.
Book a Six-Hour Wine Tour
Guthrie Family Wines is owned and made by Caroline and Blair Guthrie, who met working harvest and share a love of Rhône varieties. They keep the story short on purpose and let the wines, and their tech sheets, do the talking. The range covers white wines, chillable reds and red wines.
All of the fruit comes from organically farmed vineyards, and nearly half is dry-farmed to save water. In the cellar they use native whole-cluster fermentation, no grape concentrates, and only small amounts of sulfur and tartaric acid; the wines are vegan. Corks are made from a sugar cane by-product, and the bottles carry no capsules. The Guthries also donate to causes such as the Natural Resources Defense Council.
There is no tasting room or visit page; the winery lists only Sonoma 95476 and sells through its online shop and wine club. The day below stays in Sonoma, with two Plaza-area wineries known for organic and old-vine farming and the historic Gundlach Bundschu estate.
Guthrie does not offer tastings. On the day below, fees run $42 at Winery Sixteen 600, $45 at Bedrock and $45 at Gundlach Bundschu, paid to each winery.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
