Alexander Valley · Sonoma County
A tiny winery devoted to single-vineyard rosé, made by winemaker Kevin Casey. Finnella Cellars does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Finnella Cellars began in 2013 in Amador County and soon settled in Healdsburg, where winemaker and founder Kevin Casey makes his small vintages by hand. Casey learned his craft under Bill Easton, owner and winemaker of Domaine de la Terre Rouge, working with Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Zinfandel. His friend from college, Ross Saly, organizes the business.
Finnella is devoted to rosé, calling itself Sonoma County's original craft rosé, and each wine comes from a single vineyard. Bonebrick is Grenache and Viognier from Ann Kraemer's Shake Ridge Ranch near Sutter Creek in Amador County, a vineyard well represented on the wine list at The French Laundry; the 2026 vintage was just 90 cases. Snowdrop is made from Carignane vines more than 80 years old at the Bartolomei Brothers Vineyard east of Ukiah in Mendocino County.
Finnella's website lists addresses in Healdsburg and Cloverdale but publishes no tasting room, tours or visitor hours, and the wine is sold online, with shipping twice a month. For a day in the north end of Sonoma County, we take guests to small estates nearby that do open their doors.
Finnella Cellars does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:30 a.m. from Geyserville Inn or a Healdsburg hotel such as Hotel Trio.
Geyserville Inn, at the north end of Geyserville, is about 10 minutes from J. Rickards, and Hotel Trio, on Dry Creek Road on the north side of Healdsburg, about 25. Since Finnella Cellars does not host visitors, this day takes you to three small estates nearby that do. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. Jim and Eliza Rickards' 60-acre family ranch at the end of Chianti Road, planted around Zinfandel vines from 1908; their Cabernet Sauvignon goes to Silver Oak for its Alexander Valley wine. The Wine Flight is $20, with covered and open-air seating over the vineyard. Open Monday to Saturday, final seating at 3 p.m.; call ahead or drop in.
About 10 minutes away. Santi and Virginia Catelli opened this Geyserville restaurant in 1936, and their granddaughter, chef Domenica Catelli, carries on the family's handmade Italian cooking. Open Wednesday to Sunday from noon; we reserve the table for you. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 20 minutes away. Hugh and Ruth Seaton bought this Dry Creek Valley ranch in 1966, and their son Buzz still farms it; the family pours, with sweeping views over the vineyard. The Seaton Family Wine Tasting of six wines is $20. By reservation, made by phone.
About 20 minutes away. Named for the prehistoric painted caves of Pech Merle in France, this small winery has a tasting lounge in a historic brick building on Geyserville's main street, with a covered patio out back. Its LINEA is a solera-style Cabernet that blends seven vintages. Patio tastings are $15 to $25. Open daily, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., by online reservation.
Back in Healdsburg by 4:10 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. J. Rickards opens Monday to Saturday and Catelli's Wednesday to Sunday, so this day works Wednesday to Saturday. It starts at 10:30 because J. Rickards opens at 11.
About $55 to $65 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
