Anne Moller-Racke founded Donum in 2001 on a former dairy farm in Carneros, as a Pinot Noir project modeled on the grand crus of Burgundy. Allan Warburg, a Danish businessman and collector based in Hong Kong and China, acquired the winery with partners in December 2011, and from 2015 he began placing large-scale sculpture among the vines. Donum is Latin for gift.
Donum makes single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from five estate vineyards in Carneros, the Russian River Valley, Anderson Valley and the West Sonoma Coast, including the historic Savoy Vineyard it bought in 2023. All five are certified organic and Regenerative Organic Certified, and each site is fermented separately in small lots with native yeasts.
The Donum Collection now counts nearly 70 monumental works across the 200-acre estate, by artists including Ai Weiwei, Louise Bourgeois, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama and Anselm Kiefer, and is one of the largest publicly accessible private sculpture collections in the world. Visits range from a relaxed tasting in the lounge to guided walks and all-terrain vehicle tours of the art, with seated tastings and small plates from the estate gardens.
$80 for the Tasting Lounge and $100 for the Carneros Experience, a guided walk through the gardens and art with wine, each about 60 minutes. $175 for the Discover Experience, about 90 minutes, and $275 for the private Explore Experience by all-terrain vehicle, about two hours. $50 for the self-guided Art Tour, without wine.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
