About the Winery

Bricoleur is French for someone who builds something with no clear plan, adding bits here and there, and the family took the name to heart. The property was bought in 2015, the first wines followed in 2017 from its mature vines, and the estate opened to guests in May 2020. Co-founder and chief executive Sarah Citron, who returned home after six years in fashion commerce in New York, co-founded it with her parents; her great-great-grandfather, Pietro Carlo Rossi, was the original winemaker at Sonoma County's historic Italian Swiss Colony.

The estate grows Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Russian River Valley, and in 2018 the family added Kick Ranch, a 40-acre vineyard in the Fountaingrove District, for Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. The range includes estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, sparkling wine and small seasonal releases; the Isla Rose Brut Rosé is named for Sarah's daughter and gives $5 a bottle to cancer research. USA Today named Bricoleur one of the best new wineries in the country.

This is a food-first visit. Wines are paired with dishes built on the estate's culinary gardens and local farms, from three wines with small bites up to Rooted, a six-wine tasting menu. The stone pavilion was sketched on a napkin by co-founder Elizabeth Wall, and the grounds have lawn games and catch-and-release fishing, so it suits families. Guests can also borrow the red wagon and a wicker picnic basket for a picnic among the vines.

Tasting Fees

$75 for Soaring, three wines with seasonal bites. $150 for Rooted, six wines with a curated menu. $40 for Homegrown, three wines. $75 for The Essentials Picnic. Prices exclude tax and gratuity; 1 to 6 guests, large groups 7 to 12.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
