Breathless is the work of three Sonoma-born sisters, Sharon Cohn, Rebecca Faust and Cynthia Faust, who founded it in 2007 as a tribute to their mother, Martha Jane, and her lesson that every breath is a precious gift. Rebecca also co-founded Rack & Riddle, a custom winemaking facility that specializes in finishing sparkling wine.
Everything here is sparkling, made by méthode champenoise, the traditional method in which the second fermentation happens in the bottle. The sisters partnered with winemaker Penny Gadd-Coster, and the wines have won Sweepstakes awards at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
The tasting room at the end of Moore Lane is built from five reclaimed shipping containers, industrial on the outside and 1920s in feel within, with white marble and a garden alongside. Tastings are seated, in the lounge or on the patio, and it is close enough to the plaza that we can start the day here without a long drive. Guests who want a show can book the Sabrage Experience and open a bottle with a saber, and Sparkling Hour runs late in the afternoon.
$32 to $52 per person for A Breathless Tasting Moment, a seated flight from the sparkling collection, depending on the flight you choose. The Sabrage Experience is priced as an add-on when you book.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Good to Know
Tastings are seated, in the lounge or on the patio, and prepaid through the winery's reservation system for parties of 1 to 13. The Sabrage Experience takes 2 to 6 guests and does not include a tasting. The winery does not publish policies on children or pets, so we check when we book.
Pickup at 10:50 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as h2hotel or Two Thirty-Five.
H2hotel, just off the Healdsburg plaza, and Two Thirty-Five, a small suite hotel on Healdsburg Avenue, are each about 5 minutes from Breathless, so we collect everyone at 10:50 for an 11 o'clock tasting. This day runs a little past six hours because of the later start, and the extra time is added by the hour when you book.
A Breathless Tasting Moment, a seated sparkling flight in the lounge or on the patio ($32 to $52), about an hour.
About 20 minutes away. Chef Dino Bugica's restaurant in a historic building on Geyserville Avenue, with Neapolitan-style pizza from a wood-burning oven, handmade pasta and house-cured salumi; the menu changes every day. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. Dr. Elias Hanna, a cardiac surgeon, founded the winery in 1985, and his daughter Christine has led it since 1991. The VIP Seated Tasting on the veranda, looking out over Alexander Valley, pours five wines from the family's own vineyards for $40, about an hour; the Bismark Moon Mountain Flight is $55. Open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; reservations recommended.
About 25 minutes away. Jesse Katz's estate winery, opened in 2020, where gallery rooms built around the photography of his father, Andy Katz, look out over vines first planted in 1912; Katz was the first winemaker named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. The seated Soil Series tasting of Bordeaux-style blends is $50 and the Site Series $75, each about 90 minutes. Reservations required, 21 and over; tastings from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Back in Healdsburg by 5:00 p.m.
