Adonna Wines is the label of Donna Kato, a Japanese American biochemist turned vintner who holds a master's degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis. The winery describes its approach in terms of care, resilience and intention, and it made its California debut with a spring allotment release in March 2026.
The heart of the label is estate Pinot Noir from the Canfield Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, which Kato stewards; the winery describes it as certified sustainable, with regenerative practices underway. Chardonnay comes from Russian River Valley growers, and the first release also included a White Pinot Noir. Ashley Holland is the winemaker.
Wines are sold through an allotment to the mailing list, and private tastings are offered by appointment, arranged through the winery's contact page. It is a chance to taste a brand-new label early, with a small, personal visit. We confirm current details when we book.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation. Adonna does not publish a tasting fee. We confirm the current price when we book.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Adonna is a new label, and its wines are sold through a mailing-list allotment rather than a public tasting room. Every visit is private and arranged ahead.
Pickup at 10 a.m. from a Santa Rosa hotel such as Hotel E or the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country. We confirm the Adonna tasting location when the winery accepts the request.
Both hotels are in downtown Santa Rosa, about 15 to 20 minutes from the Russian River Valley wineries west of town. Extra time can be added by the hour.

About 15 to 20 minutes away. A historic California wine name at one of the state's oldest continually working wineries, with a terrace wine bar on Laguna Ridge. The Appellation Tasting is $45, prepaid by reservation; plan on about an hour.
About 15 minutes away. Lunch at Handline in Sebastopol, a casual open-air spot for seasonal dishes made with ingredients from Sonoma County and the Sonoma Coast, open daily from 11 a.m. We confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 20 minutes away. A fourth-generation family winery with some of the Russian River Valley's oldest Pinot Noir vines, planted in 1975, and tastings in an olive grove. The Classic Wine Tasting of five wines is $30; plan on about an hour.
Back by 4:00 p.m., six hours after pickup.
Adonna does not publish its tasting days or hours, so we confirm its appointment first and set the order of the day around it. Martin Ray is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pellegrini-Olivet Lane is open Thursday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., so on Tuesday or Wednesday we choose another Russian River Valley winery.
About $75 per person in published tasting fees for Martin Ray and Pellegrini-Olivet Lane, plus the Adonna tasting fee, which we confirm when we book. Each winery is paid directly.
