About the Winery

Plotline is a new Napa Valley label founded by vintner John LaCour, who came to wine after a career in another industry. The wines are made from Bordeaux varieties, with fruit bought from a small group of growers across Napa Valley, in a style the winery describes as balanced and restrained rather than overbuilt.

The winemaker is Sally Johnson Blum, a consultant who joined Plotline in 2023 to make its first release. She spent 15 years at Pride Mountain Vineyards and eight at St. Francis Winery, and also worked at Robert Mondavi Winery and St. Hallett in Australia.

Tastings are small and seated, for up to six guests, and the winery describes them as intimate and unhurried: the team pours the current releases and talks through each wine. Plotline shares its home with Tamber Bey Vineyards at 1251 Tubbs Lane, at the north end of Calistoga. We confirm current details when we book.

Tasting Fees

$40 per person for the tasting, waived with any wine purchase. Complimentary for Plotline Wine Club members and up to 4 guests. We confirm the current price when we book.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
