Stanley and Helen Cheng bought a former cattle ranch on Napa Valley's remote eastern slopes in 1996 and began planting vines; the estate is named for the two of them. Stanley Cheng pioneered hard-anodized cookware in the 1970s, and the Hestan name now covers both wine and cookware.
The estate's 110 acres grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache, sustainably farmed and solar powered. Winemakers Jeff Gaffner and Thomas Rivers Brown make the Hestan, Meyer, Stephanie and Vincent Christopher wines, and the 2014 Meyer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was No. 8 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 in 2017.
Guests taste at the salon Hestan built in 2013 on Washington Street, in the Yountville AVA. It is made of poured concrete, hand-forged steel and glass, and it also shows Hestan and Ruffoni cookware. Seated flights are best reserved, and walk-ins are welcome at the wine bar, which also pours by the glass.
$50 for the Seasonal Tasting of five current releases and $60 for the Cabernet Tasting of six library and current-release Cabernet Sauvignons.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
