About the Winery

Cliff and Patricia Ehrlich first saw Napa Valley on a California road trip in 1967 and kept coming back for 30 years. In 1998 they bought a 10.5-acre property in Oakville, and the next generation, Susan, Scott, Brian and Christina, now runs it day to day. Cliff told the story in his book, Living A Vineyard Dream.

Seven acres are planted on gravelly Pleasanton loam near the Napa River: Sauvignon Blanc from 1996 and Cabernet Sauvignon from 2005 and 2017, beside a grove of 100-year-old Hartley walnut trees. For more than 25 years the family sold its grapes to other wineries, then began its own label with the 2021 vintage, with Paul Hobbs as consulting winemaker.

The wines are offered through an allocation list; only about 260 cases of the 2024 Cabernet are planned for release in October 2026, alongside a Sauvignon Blanc from vines planted in 1996. B Cellars also makes an Ehrlich Vineyard wine. The family publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so the vineyard does not receive visitors. The day below takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do.
