About the Winery

The Duhig family settled in Napa Valley in 1853, when James Duhig built a homestead ranch and vineyard. By 1888 the family farm was yielding 1,000 tons of Zinfandel, and over the generations the Duhigs raised sheep, cattle, prize apricots and table grapes. Today the sixth generation is growing up on the land, and the family describes self-sufficiency as a long-standing Duhig mandate.

DUHIG makes a very small amount of earth-to-glass Cabernet Sauvignon from its 13-acre home ranch in the heart of the Coombsville AVA, where slopes run up to 22 percent and the soils include diatomaceous earth from the ancient caldera. Grower and winemaker Harvest Duhig has worked with Chuck Wagner at Caymus since 2002 and is its Mountain Cabernet winemaker. The first DUHIG Cabernet, the 2016, was released in 2019.

This is a family ranch, not a public tasting room. Tastings are by appointment, and VineClub memberships include complimentary tasting passes, invitations to vineyard gatherings and seasonal sound baths. The family does not publish a public tasting fee or hours, so we request the visit with the family and confirm the details for you.
