About the Winery

Ampleur is two friends doing what each does best, as the winery puts it: Morgan Maureze makes the wine and Andrew Wesson markets and sells it, with growers who own and farm excellent vineyards completing the circle. The label was founded in 2023 and launched at Premiere Napa Valley in 2025. Ampleur is French for breadth or scope, a nod to Morgan's French roots.

Morgan is the winemaker at Seven Apart and was Andy Erickson's assistant winemaker for 15 vintages. His résumé runs from Dominus, Château Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion, Petrus and DRC to Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Mayacamas, Ovid and Marciano Estate. Andrew spent eight years as director of national and international sales at Shafer Vineyards.

This is a very small, young label, and visits are by appointment only, so there is no tasting room to walk into. The early releases include a Hayne Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Blanc, a musqué clone Sauvignon Blanc. We request the appointment and confirm the place, time and fee for you, then plan the rest of the day around it.

Open Thursday to Monday, with limited availability Tuesday and Wednesday.

3:50 · Back to your hotel

Back in Yountville by about 4:05 p.m., about six hours after pickup.

About $175 per person in tasting fees for Salvestrin and Miner, plus Ampleur's fee, which is confirmed when the appointment is made; each paid directly to the winery.

Miner has limited availability on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Thursday to Monday is easiest for this day. Ampleur's appointment time may shift the order of the day.
