Russian River Valley · Sonoma County
A family micro-winery of Italian grapes between two creeks on Limerick Lane, where you can taste in a private oak grove with bocce and a picnic, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.

Due Ruscelli, Italian for two creeks, is a boutique family winery that Michael and Melissa launched in 2011 out of their love for Italian culture and the way food and wine bring people to the table. Melissa grew up holding on to her Italian heritage, especially in the kitchen, and the family brings the same insistence on good ingredients to the wine. Friends and family still help prune the vines, pick the grapes and make the wine, and harvest is a family reunion.
The estate vineyards sit between two seasonal creeks a few minutes from downtown Healdsburg, in the Russian River Valley, and the focus is Italian varieties: Primitivo in two bottlings, Luna and Tramonto, Sangiovese, Barbera, a Super Tuscan-style blend, Pinot Grigio and a rosé called Carisma. It is a micro-winery, and a family member often shows guests how the whole process works in a space this small.
This is one of the most relaxed visits in the valley. The tasting room is on Limerick Lane, and the experiences are all private and hosted by the family: a picnic tasting under the shady oaks, a winemaking tour, a charcuterie pairing in the tasting room or barrel room, or two hours with the oak grove to yourselves, with a picnic, bocce and cornhole. Guests love the grove on a warm afternoon.
$30 per person for the Picnic and Private Tasting. $40 per person for the Winemaking Tour and Private Tasting. $60 per person for the Charcuterie Pairing. $70 per person for Tasting in the Grove, two hours of private access to the oak grove.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:45 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as The Madrona or Hotel Healdsburg.
The Madrona, a 24-room hotel on a historic estate on Westside Road, is about 15 minutes from Due Ruscelli, and Hotel Healdsburg, on the town plaza, about 10. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
The first stop. Tasting in the Grove ($70): two hours in the private oak grove, with a family member pouring the full lineup and bocce on the side.
About 20 minutes away. The Windsor brewery and pub of Russian River Brewing, which first brewed Pliny the Elder in 1999, with a full pub menu and a self-guided brewery tour. Open daily from 11 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. Michael Browne, who co-founded Kosta Browne in 1997, started CIRQ in 2009, and since 2018 its home has been a hilltop estate in the heart of the Russian River Valley with sweeping views in every direction; its 2023 Pinot Noir earned 100 points from Jonathan Cristaldi's Sonoma County Buyer's Guide. Visits are an exclusive, private experience, limited and offered any day of the week on request; the fee is not published, and we arrange the appointment for you.
About 25 minutes away. Martha Stoumen's natural-wine tasting room on Center Street, built with local craftspeople as a homage to her Northern California childhood and to Italy, where she apprenticed; it stays open into the evening, which makes it an easy last stop. Walk-ins welcome, reservations available; we confirm the fee when we book.
Back in Healdsburg by 5:30 p.m.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. The grove tasting takes two hours, so lunch is at 1:20 and the day finishes on the Healdsburg plaza around 5:30. Due Ruscelli asks for a day's notice and CIRQ is by private request, so we confirm both times when we book.
About $70 per person at Due Ruscelli, paid directly to the winery; tasting fees at CIRQ and Martha Stoumen are to be verified upon reservation.
