Buehler Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery high in the hills east of St. Helena, about five country miles from town. The family has farmed Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel here for more than four decades, and the winery describes itself as a fourth-generation vineyard and winery. The winery is also the Buehler family home.
The estate covers about 300 acres on a mountaintop. The family pairs careful vineyard management with minimal winemaking, and it aims to price its wines fairly. The lineup includes a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, an Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, the Papa's Knoll Cabernet, a White Zinfandel and a Russian River Chardonnay.
Because the winery is also the family home, visits are by appointment only, on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive up is part of the experience, and the winery jokes that visits are for the few hardy souls who make the trip. The $25 visit fee is waived with a wine purchase or when you join the wine club.
$25 per person to visit the winery, waived with a wine purchase or when you join the wine club.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
