Russell Bevan and Victoria De Crescenzo founded Bevan Cellars in the mid-2000s, with the first vintage in 2005. Bevan is one of Napa Valley's best-known winemakers, with more than thirty 100-point wines to his name. In November 2025 Middleton Partners, longtime collectors of the wines, bought De Crescenzo's stake and joined Russell and Heidi Bevan as partners, with Russell staying on as proprietor and winemaker.
The winery's motto is uncover potential, create excellence. The Napa wines are small-lot, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style reds from Oakville, Howell Mountain, St. Helena, Rutherford and the Stags Leap District, and the new chapter puts all of Bevan's focus on Napa Cabernet. A Sonoma collection of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah honors where the winery began.
Bevan Cellars has no estate tasting room. Guests taste at Brasswood, on Highway 29 north of St. Helena in the St. Helena AVA, Tuesday through Saturday. The Bordeaux Tasting pours five reds, including a library selection when available, in about 75 minutes. The Food & Wine Lunch Pairing matches five wines with four courses from Brasswood Kitchen & Bar, which makes an easy lunch stop on its own.
$125 for The Bordeaux Tasting, five Napa reds including a library selection when available, about 75 minutes. $200 for The Food & Wine Lunch Pairing, five wines with four courses at Brasswood Kitchen & Bar, about two hours.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
