About the Winery

Bill and Dawn Williamson are fourth-generation vintners whose families were farming vineyards in Australia by 1919. They came to California in 1980, on what was meant to be a business trip, found the valleys of Northern California and stayed. Bill, a software entrepreneur and author as well as a winemaker, built Williamson Wines around a small, loyal membership rather than stores and restaurants.

The family now farms vineyards across Sonoma and Napa counties, from Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley to Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, Knights Valley and Atlas Peak. In August 2022 it bought Yoakim Bridge Winery in Dry Creek Valley, with its century-old vineyard of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. The wines are made in a natural style, without additives, and almost all go to club members.

Food is the point of a visit. Every tasting at Yoakim Bridge Estate is seated, overlooking the vineyards, and comes with dishes, cheeses or spices chosen by the winery's chefs, and the hosts encourage you to trust your own palate. The menu runs from Icon wines with artisan cheeses to a chef-prepared lunch and a private Reserve wine lunch with Bill Williamson himself.

Tasting Fees

$60 for Icon Wines with artisan cheeses. $75 for Icon Wines with a chef-prepared lunch. $145 for the Reserve Wines lunch. $295 for a private Reserve wine lunch with winemaker Bill Williamson. Estate dinners are offered to club members and their guests.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
