About the Winery

John Anthony Vineyards is the estate label of John Truchard, a second-generation Napa Valley vintner who began in vineyard management in 1995 using skills passed down from his father. He and his wife Michele are also the J and M behind JaM Cellars, but John Anthony is the family's limited-production line, grown on vineyards they farm themselves.

The winery farms ten vineyard sites across several appellations, from Calistoga to the Carneros Gap, Coombsville and Jameson Canyon, and bottles AVA series wines, single-vineyard wines, Reserve wines and a top wine called The One. The lineup also includes La Dame Michele sparkling wine and a late harvest Sauvignon Blanc.

The tasting lounge on First Street pours the wines by the flight, glass or bottle, with small bites from the estate chef, indoors or on the patio. For a more focused visit, the Reserve Room tasting adds pairing bites for 2 to 8 guests. The lounge is open into the evening, so it also makes an easy first stop on a downtown morning.

Tasting Fees

Flights, glasses and bottles are priced at the lounge; tasting fees to be verified upon reservation. The Reserve Room Tasting with Pairing Bites takes a $50 deposit per person.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
